Moin Zettis,

Well, let's repeat it once again: nothing new from V-VI Epoch one more time... Even just a new liveries. No new toolings in Z for V-VI Epoch electric locos since 2008 (!) and for V-VI Epoch diesel locos since 2012! Last ones were BR 189 in 2008 and BR 246 in 2012, and still nothing since that time. Just wondering if they are going to make Z scale an exclusive realm of old-timers? :) No modern locomotives, still no new EMU's/DMU's. Yes, I know that H0 market is 25 times bigger than Z, but for example, can we have at least one Desiro while there are 25 different articles in H0, 17 in TT and 13 in N?

I know that they announce new models in winter, but I have big doubts that something will change. However I wish to be wrong. Just look at this:

It seems that "golden ages" of Z scale V-VI Epoch railroaders ended about 10 years ago...

Alex

Alex. The only hope I have: the retooling of ICE3.
I hope there will be at least a Vectron (not the Diesel Version!) and one commuter train. As I think, the ALSTOM LHB LINT41 would be the best one, threw the fact, that it is the only one which is in service across Germany. I think, that was the point - why it was chosen for scale N and H0.

What really a surprise to me was, is the fact, that TRAXX DE tooling was not used to push TRAXX2E 146.2 and 185.2 models to the market. I think, the most popular locomotive should not be missed in the Z program...

Your list is not correct at one point. BR 146, which run at first 2001, is not the same as märklin 146 for metronom. metronom 146 based on the 2003 TRAXX P 160 AC - the real TRAXX1. The first 31 of 146 based on series 145, the last locomotives from ADtranz.

Torsten

Torsten, yes, I agree, retooled ICE3 is a very welcomed novelty. However, a price of 730 EUR for a complete train is a bit misaligned I think :), but that is our reality now and we can't change it. Just look at Rokuhan's JR500 in any versions incl. latest "Hello Kitty", E6 Shinkansen - even with additional interior lighting these complete 8-car trains are way cheaper than it.

I hope that Marklin will finally hear us too and roll out a Vectron and some other long-awaited novelties. Lint would be a very good option too. So, let's wait and look forward, after all hope will never die :)

About 146.2 and 185.2 - just like you, I think that it's still a plenty of work in Z scale everywhere. For example: they announced a set of Green Cargo tankcars. What locomotive will pull them? Why not take an existing Class 185 tooling and paint it into Green Cargo or HectorRail livery? Exactly as they did in H0, by the way - art. no. 36610 and 36602.

Or take Taurus tooling and again, make a HectorRail loco?

Regarding my list - thank you for correction. I haven't deepened into details too much, I just wanted to show that they used the same tooling for 185, ME146, as well as for Hoyer 185-CL and for Swiss 482.

PS. These are my favorite Vectron paint schemes, I dream to see them in Z scale  Best schemes ever, I think :)
