Inside looks still ok for 50 years.
Der Innenraum sieht für das Alter von 50 auch noch gut aus.
Interessant auch, mit welchem Aufwand die Bahn zu KuK-Zeiten gebaut wurde. Damals wohl eine strategisch wichtige Strecke.
Auch die Bahnhofsgebäude und Nebengebäude sehen alle noch recht gut aus. In Deutschland würden vermutlich schon Bäume durch die Dächer wachsen.
It is also interesting to note the effort that went into building the railway during the Austro-Hungarian Empire. At that time, it was probably a strategically important route.
The station buildings and outbuildings are all still in fairly good condition. In Germany, trees would probably already be growing through the roofs.

The "transalpina", as we call in Italian that line, was essential to the Austrian empire. It connected the heart of the empire to the principle port (Trieste). It was important for freight and passenger traffic. Most of the importance was lost after WWI and also after WWII the line was essentially not usable.
Since Slovenia entered EU and Schenghen, the line has been re-opened and I understand there is freight reaching and leaving Trieste through this line. Passenger services have not been re-established.
The terminal of the line at Trieste Sant'Andrea (now called Trieste Campo Marzio) is magnificent, and it has been turned into a railways museum since 1984.The museum is under total renovation/reconstruction since 2017. At the end of it the intention is to re-activate the passenger link to Slovenia from this station. (see this link)
Mal die Frage an die Experten, war die 03 wirklich so schlecht wie im Film beschrieben?
In niederen Diensten hat sie wohl funktioniert, aber wenn sie ans Limit gebracht wurde, soll es wohl oft Probleme gegeben haben.
Die DB hat sie auch relativ früh ausgemustert, bei der DR-Ost ist sie wohl mehr gefordert worden. Bei der DR-Ost wurde aber auch mehr umgebaut.
